The new owner of the Dallas Design District— Dallas-based real estate investor Dunhill Partners — has bought the Weatherford Ridge Shopping Center, a large shopping center near Interstate 20 and Main Street in Weatherford.

Terms of the acquisition were undisclosed.

The 388,000-square-foot retail center, which include retailers such as J.C. Penney, Belk, Bed Bath & Beyond and TJ Maxx, was bought from The Retail Connection LP of Dallas and an affiliate of North American Development Group, which finished developing the center in 2006.

"We believe this will be a wonderful high-yield investment for our company long term, and is a good fit for our expanding portfolio of solid retail projects across the country," said William "Bill" Hutchinson, president of Dunhill Partners, who spoke to the Dallas Business Journal recently in an exclusive interview about his plans for the Design District property.

The property sellers said they selected Dunhill Partners based on their experience as an owner and operator. Want to learn more about Dunhill Partners? Check out our video and interview with Hutchinson and his plans to revitalize the city's iconic Design District.
