9/1/2007 - Dallas Business
A Bed, Bath & Beyond, Circuit City and The Sports Authority are among 157,000

square feet of retail expected to open in Mansfield next summer. The stores will be part of the $20

million Mansfield Pointe to be built near the southeast corner of Debbie Lane and U.S. 287 in

Mansfield, next to the 420,000-square-foot Mansfield Towne Crossing retail center. Ultimately,

Mansfield Pointe will have 12 to 15 retailers and two to eight restaurants. The Retail Connection's

development arm, Connected Development Services, plans to break ground in the next two months

and expects to open the center next summer. Mansfield, south of Arlington, has a population of

58,000. Chad Bradshaw, a developer with The Retail Connection, said with a $77,000 average

annual household income, an excellent school system and good housing stock, Mansfield is ready

to emerge from under the radar screen. Mansfield Pointe will round out the nearby Mansfield

Towne Crossing, with its Super Target, Home Depot and Staples.
